About Me and Bee
My story and origin of Imagine Bee
My lifelong passion for art and design was ignited by my beloved grandmother, Beatrice, or Bee as we lovingly called her, who imparted her wisdom in visual art and design.
My heart remains devoted to graphic design, water media, and printmaking—forms of expression that deeply resonate with me, allowing me to blend technical expertise with creativity in my original art. With more than three decades of experience as a creative graphic designer, my expertise lies in crafting imaginative hand illustrations, limited-edition screen prints, book illustrations, mono-printed images, and layered collage mixed media pieces, all enriched with nostalgic narratives.
I furthered my artistic journey with a Master of Arts degree and honed my graphic design skills working for both corporations and startups. My expertise extends beyond the basics, encompassing graphic design, printmaking, visual arts, and screen-printing, all showcased in my portfolio.
Now, as the owner of the studio, I'm thrilled to continue this journey, not just for myself but for all who visit the studio. I aim to spark creativity in others, as Bee did for me, and help them discover their unique voice, and story through visual designs and illustrations.
Bee’s Story
Beatrice Moss, an inspiration to many and known as “Mimi”
Beatrice Slater Moss, Bee for short, was an inspiration to me and artists alike. Mimi had inspired me to explore and create from my surroundings by experimenting with many types of materials; from sewing, painting, drawing, stamping, and printing.
Imagine Bee Studio is based on how Mimi had made connections and friendships that encouraged and inspired the imaginative vision of being creative together. As Mimi believed “everyone has an artist inside.”
